The health reform act passed in the beginning of 2010 included special wording for individuals who try to refuse the mandated health insurance laws. The government is diligently working to put measures in place to force every citizen to purchase the government-mandated health insurance. This is without regard to what the individual needs or wants.
Congress has seen the necessity to add provisions giving the Internal Revenue Service even more power than they currently obtain. The Internal Revenue Service will be responsible for collecting the average monthly cost for health insurance from every citizen. This can be done through employers or through the individual, but from now on all health insurance payments will be directed to the Internal Revenue.
Gone are the days when payments are made direct to the various health insurance providers. This is in part because the government wants to steer the citizens into an eventual government-run health insurance procedure. In the beginning, all individuals who decide to refuse to play a role in the health care reform will receive monetary fines. The fines will begin January 1, 2014 and escalate to just under seven hundred dollars per person and extending up to two thousand one hundred dollars for families by the year 2016.
The decisions will fall upon the Internal Revenue Service and the highest penalty for refusing to participate in the government-run health care will soon rise to 2.5 percent of every individual’s gross income. We are informed there will be no jail time anticipated, but there is a catch to this theory. The Internal Revenue Service is going to treat the non-participation of mandatory health insurance by the same rules for failure to pay annual taxes.
Citizens who fail or refuse to file their annual Form 1040 are subject to fines, penalties, and in some cases jail time. However, the Internal Revenue Service will continue to pursue its case against you for lack of payment that began with the refusal to participate with the government-run health insurance. You will also be instructed by the Internal Revenue Service to purchase a health insurance policy to the governments sanctions when they disapprove of the one you chose for yourself. Guess this takes down the health insurance industry over the next few years too.
When you continue to read more you will find there are circumstances in which you and your family could be facing prison. The government is planning to treat the entire health insurance industry as a government mandated tax and that is where the new loophole comes into play.
